For a while now, I've wondered what the prime numbers look like in binary, that is, if you paint the ones as white dots, and the zeros as black dots, what does the whole set look like? We're back in Renwick now, and today we will drive over to Picton, drop off the car and head back to Wellington. We've done and seen a huge amount of things, taken a ridiculous number of photos, and had a lot of fun. We've got a couple of days before we fly back to the UK, so hopefully we'll get some photos up on the web before too long : ) ...

We're a week into our big trip, and are about to leave the north island and head over to Picton on the ferry for three weeks of south island fun. We're in a slightly strange internet cafe at the moment, so you'll have to wait for the details and, of course, the photos... : )

The southern hemisphere is a great place to view Comet McNaught as it moves away from the Sun. It can be seen clearly from Wellington, as long as you get high enough to see over the hills. Here are our slightly blurry (no tripod) photos taken from Mt Victoria.
